New I Found
Here is a new way to braid. Look at the sides very closely. You will see the braids look kind of like ribbons. What you do is braid the hair (not too tight) all the way down. Then take the two strands you were using in one hand and the third strand you hold while pushing up the hair (other two strands). Once all the way "crinkled" the loosen it a bit to your liking. Very simple yet an eloquent look. Give it a try.
p.s. Don't ask me what is up with her smile.
Eilish's Hairstyle
Here is one Eilish did. She loves doing my hair. I don't mind at night...it is during the day when she does it and I have it in all day. During those days I pray that no one comes to visit. I think she has some talent there, don't you?
Upside down french braid
With this hairstyle I had her lay on the couch upside down and started from the nap of her neck french braiding. I then rolled the end around and tucked it into her hair on top and added a cute bow, made my a good friend (doesn't she do a wonderful job? If you would like to see more of her bows go to http://www.cuddlebuddies4kids.etsy.com/). I really like how this hairstyle turned out. I might have to do this again for her Christmas dress...and no I have no idea what I am going to do for her Christmas dress. p.s. after the picture was taken I then curled the stray hairs.
Crown hairstyle
Saturday we decide to experiment. I braided her hair from the frown and then wrapped it around her head. With the rest of the hair I put it into a ponytail and created a messy bun. She also liked this one. Thank goodness she has long hair I can play with.
Jazmin Hairstyle
Eilish woke up one morning and told me she wanted Jazmin's hair. So this is what we came up with. I didn't have a wide enough ribbon on top for a headband. She was happy with it.
Once there was a Snowman
OK, here is another pinafore. My goal is to sell the dress with the musical notes and then have different pinafores with different songs on each to sell with the dress or separate. Right now I am waiting to hear from the church headquarters if I get approval on the songs. Until then I will get my line of dresses set up and Eilish will have a closet full of dresses. Let me know what you think. Good idea, not good idea. Would you purchase one, if so why and if not why. How much would you be willing to spend to purchase one, etc. So, so far we have two, Popcorn popping in pink, Once there was a snowman in blue and then I will be doing two more. You will have to wait to find out what song they will be and what colors.
Roadshow
Well the Roadshow is all over. It was a wonderful night. I saw the dress rehearsals the night before and most of them needed lots of help (including ours). I was shocked at how well everyone did. I haven't laughed so hard in such a long time. My jaws are still sore from laughing. I have to also give it to the sister who was MCing. Talk about a crack-up!! Our ward went to the Palmer building first and then came back to Wasilla. Brandon did wonderful. I was so afraid in the beginning when he told me he had a major role, as he is so shy about things like this. I even had a couple of leaders tell me they were wondering about the same thing. He went out of his comfort zone and did marvelous. He spoke up and improvised in places. I have to say...ours was the best, and I am not saying that because it was my ward. They had wonderful costumes, props, make-up, it was hilarious!!! Brandon received lots of compliments. Things like this is what he needs to build up his confidence. And now for the pictures!!

Another picture
Just thought I would show you what Brandon looks like with both the costume and his face painted. He went to dress rehearsal today and got tons of compliments. I must say, he looked great. I can't wait for the roadshow Saturday.

We decided to try our hand at painting Brandon's face for the Roadshow. What do you think? I can't wait to see it ALL together.

Another person in my life
Well I have a very strange, yet handsome person in my life. A couple of days ago I found this young man standing in my living room.
OK. Brandon is in the Roadshow the stake is putting on. Remember them? I loved doing Roadshows. The play the ward is putting on is about Pirates and Brandon is one of the main characters. He is the Captain of the pirate ship. He came home last week telling me he needed a costume. (He still has not learned...that is not what you say to me.) So, this is what I threw together this week. He is so excited. This will be his first performance anywhere. I will let you know how he did as the show is this weekend. I will also be posting more pictures of the Roadshow next week, so keep on a look out.
Primary Program
We had our primary program today. I was amazed at how well it went. The kids (ward) did wonderful. They sat on the stand during the whole sacrament and were so reverent. As you know the theme this year has been "I am a Child of God". I was sitting up there with the kids (as I am in primary) and as they sang the song "I am a Child of God" it brought tears to my eyes and I had a hard time singing. Just listening to the children sing that song moved my spirit and reconfirmed that "yes" I am a Child of God.
As a parent, I was so pleased with Eilish and Nephi. Eilish got up there and said her lines without any help and Nephi, I see "Bishop" in his future. He gets up there and looks out at the congragation (with hands in pocket) and gives his lines. I must say... my children are not shy about speaking. They are all great speakers and give wonderful talks. Some times I worry as with Brandon and Nephi, I never know what they are going to say as they write their own talks. With Eilish she tells me what to type and I type it for her. I love listening to her wise wisdom.
Grandma... if you are reading this (I know you already know it) you have some very wise, and spiritual grandchildren. We are so very bless to have them in our lives. What a joy Brandon, Nephi and Eilish are to me. I thank Heavenly Father for sending them in my life every day.

More Hairstyles
I am having so much fun doing Eilish's hair. It does help that she has long hair. What do you think? Am I getting out of control? I just wish I could make these wonderful bows she has. This is one place I am not seeing any talent in me.

Fishing Trip
This was our fishing trip this summer. We went out with some friends for two days on their boat. We didn't have a lot of sucess, like we were hoping for, yet it was a fun time. We each caught at least 5 fish each. The tiger rock fish in the pile of other fish was one I caught. This bottom picture was of Brandon standing next to the salmon he caught. Everyone was telling him to kiss the fish, all of a sudden the fish turned and smacked him in the face. It was so funny watching. Teach him for not kissing a fish. As you can see we caught three salmons and the rest rock fish. I did catch a halibut yet it was too small and we sent him back home. We shall do this again next year and hopefully fill up our freezer. Calk this up to a family vacation, instead of a fill up the freezer trip.
